Two Pieces of Tinton Falls Fort Monmouth Property Will Be For Sale

The fire station and pistol range will be made available to developers.

Two more pieces of Tinton Falls Fort Monmouth property will soon be available to developers.

The Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) unanimously voted to make the pistol range and fire station located in the Charles Wood section of the former fort available through the request for offers to purchase (RFOTP) process.

The pistol range is an 11,110-square-foot building with 10 firing lanes and sits on a 1-acre parcel.

FMERA Executive Director Bruce Steadman said "a pistol range is really the only use" for the building and that there has been "specific interest" in the property.

The fire station is located on Corregidor Road and Heliport Drive and consists of three high-bays, offices, bedrooms, a day room, kitchen and associated parking. The fire station is one of the newest properties on the fort as it was built in 2001.

The Fort Monmouth reuse plan calls for the fire station to be used an institutional or civic function, and if a private entity wishes to use it, an amendment to the plan would need to made by FMERA.

The RFOTPs for both properties should be sent out in the next two months.
