The following is a message from the West Long Branch Police:
The reconstruction of the intersection at Locust Avenue and Parker Road begins at 8 a.m. on Monday morning, Nov. 11.
The intersection will be completely closed, with detours in place at Parker Road and Throckmorten, Locust Avenue and Community Drive, and Locust Avenue and Richard Lane. This will continue until further notice.
Residents are asked to not only abide by the detours, but also to begin planning alternate routes for their routine traveling in that area. West Long Branch officers will be posted at the construction site as well as deployed in the area to monitor detour traffic for speed and other violations (mostly pertaining to safe driving conduct in the detour areas).
Drivers who must use the detour streets in that area are reminded to use extra caution on Throckmorten Avenue, Richard Lane, Community Drive, Poplar Avenue and any other side street they may use during this project.
