Local Filmaker Releases Video Featuring Eatontown Downtown Farmers Market Vendors

Local filmmaker, Go Home Films LLC recently released a video about the Eatontown Downtown Farmer’s Market which takes place Sundays from May through the first week of November at Eatontown’s Wampum Park. Hours are 10 AM to 3 PM.   The market, which mostly features New Jersey grown produce, is in its second year but hasn’t received much publicity.  “One of the major reasons for creating the video was to help the market get more coverage and spotlight the vendors that are providing healthy non genetically modified food” explained C.C. Rott, the founder and owner of Go Home Films LLC. “It seemed like an all around good idea.  I’ve been a long time vegetarian and know how quality fresh food can make a meal significantly better.”    The video can be viewed at:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=nIIebCLLHps#t=1341

Hosted by Steve Steinhauser, the video takes the viewer on a tour of the Farmer’s Market with its host trying some delicious samples along the way.  “It was an honor to have hosted the video of this great event” said Steinhauser.  “Seeing the community come together was a great experience and I was truly impressed by the tastiness of the food.”

In the video, Market Manager Pamela Caputo tells the story of the origin of the Farmers Market and how it ended up at its present location which is in a beautiful venue with easy public access and free parking.  Parts of the video I found particularly interesting were learning how farmers market products are fresh every day along with another segment on food waste composting which shows how food waste is diverted from municipal landfills and turned into rich soil that is ideal for growing crops.    The filmmakers also traveled to New Egypt, New Jersey to visit market vendor Krowicki’s Farms.  That portion of the video provides viewers with a special behind the scenes look thru the eyes of a farmer.
