Day One/Two/Three/Four (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Newark to London, crazy ass delay before the next leg of our journey from London to Freetown, SL, 1 hour car ferry to Freetown, after waiting forever for our luggage at the airport, then a drive to Makeni where extreme fogginess makes a 2 hour drive into 4 hours and makes it feel like you're inside a video game with Hotel California the destination), we arrive in the total dark (no electricity between 10 pm and 8 am) at 6:30 am. I am totally too old for this but then so is our 26 year old surgical tec, Danielle. She points out to us that it took 24 hours from London to our mattress pallet in Makeni. Our accommodations are located on the hospital compound.
