News from Seabrook Village in Tinton Falls: In its continuing effort to reach out and assist the local community, Seabrook delivered furniture to the Cancer Support Community in Eatontown. The 12 pieces of living room-style furniture, which include four loveseats and eight lounge chairs, will assist the non-profit by providing comfort for its clients. The furniture was delivered to the center by Lowy’s Moving Service free of charge, as a way to help in this endeavor. “This donation is a way for our community to help provide the Cancer Support Community furniture that will be used to help add comfort for clients, their family members and friends,” said Art Sparks, Seabrook executive director. “Our community is one that prides itself on …

A letter from Ilene L. Winters, founder and executive director of the Cancer Support Community (formerly The Wellness Community): Dear Friends: August, 2011 The Wellness Community is now the Cancer Support Community! If you remember, in July of 2009 we merged with Gilda's Club. We now have over 50 affiliates in the US doing exactly what we do here in Monmouth and Ocean Counties - providing support, education, and hope to people with cancer and their loved ones. A new name was chosen after the merger to signify our new, joined organization and to be a bit more descriptive of what we do ... We support people with cancer in our community! Seabrook is an awesome community! Incase you (the public) didn't know.. The seniors also make time to go to our local schools and assist with tasks to help the children and staff. Thank you for being so wonderful to Tinton Falls!! more ›
