Ocean Man Accused of Stealing $7,600 in Glasses from Sunglass Hut

An Ocean man was charged with theft for taking 20 pairs of sunglasses from the Sunglass Hut in Eatontown. Francis A. Slater, 34, of 2126 Appollo St., in Ocean, was arrested Jan. 31 for allegedly taking $7,600 worth of merchandise out of the Monmouth Mall store. Slater will have his first appearance in court on Feb. 2 and bail was set at $10,000. He was charged with theft, which is a third degree crime.
