Rook Opens Its Doors in Little Silver

Customers will be able to text in orders and pay for their premium java with Smartphones.

  After months of anticipation, coffee lovers in Little Silver and Oceanport can grab a premium cup of joe right around the corner and never have to venture near Route 35. Rook Coffee Roaster, launched in 2010 by Oceanport residents Holly Migliaccio and Shawn Kingsley, opened the doors to its newest outpost at the Little Silver Train Station on Monday. “We leaked the word on our Facebook page late on Friday, that we would open our doors in the morning. That small leak helped for a fantastic first day,” said Migliaccio in a release. The Little Silver Borough Council accepted the beanery's $10,800 bid to run the train station's concession area, which had been vacant since 2010, in April.
