The local marine forecast calls for seas to build from 4 to 6 feet early Wednesday to 5 to 8 feet in the afternoon. South winds could be sustained to 35 knots in the …

5 Things You Need to Know Today

Be Prepared: Thursday, May 19

Patch gives you the five things you need to know today.

Scout's honor. By around noon on Wednesday, we were beginning to think all the flooding hysteria was for naught as we went back inside to grab our sunglasses. By 3 p.m., right as school was letting out and the skies were opening up, we reconsidered. Rain continues to figure into the forecast on Thursday, with possible thunderstorms and a 50 percent chance of precipitation. Today's lesson: the girl scouts were onto something when they coined "Be prepared" as their motto. Clip clop. Patch takes you behind the scenes at Monmouth Park as they make last minute preparations for opening day last weekend. Sit back and enjoy Steve Rogers' video capturing the old-fashioned flavor of the track. Lemonade from lemons. It's not easy making government …
