Tinton Falls Recognized for Work During Hurricane Sandy

Borough applauded by Joint Insurance Fund

Tinton Falls was recently recognized by the Joint Insurance Fund (JIF) for its work during Hurricane Sandy "The recognition by JIF was for borough personnel – working directly under the municipality and covered by the borough’s insurance (Administration, OEM, and Police, Public Works, EMS) related to Hurricane Sandy," Tinton Falls Mayor Michael Skudera said. Tinton Falls was ranked first out of the 37 municipalities utilizing the JIF in Monmouth County. "Many people and groups helped with the hurricane – However JIF is recognizing the training, responsiveness, preparedness, and policies of the borough personnel covered by the JIF," Skudera said. This is unbelievable! We were without power for almost two weeks and when I called Tinton Falls Borough Hall at the 7 day mark and wanted to know why there wasn't even a comfort station set up there, I was told "I guess we can give you a cup of coffee if you come in" I guess they were too busy helping other towns.   more ›
