Hundreds Show Support For Hurricane Sandy Relief Run
$2,500 raised for Red Cross
Hundreds of people showed up for the Hurricane Sandy Relief Run 5K/1 Mile Walk on Saturday afternoon in Long Branch. According to race organizer Ben Woolley, 270 people participated in the event which was held at Lake Takanassee. Participants were asked to bring either an item to be donated to the Second Baptist Church in Long Branch or a monetary donation for the Red Cross. Woolley said $2,500 was raised for the Red Cross this morning through the event. The day was not about the runners' finishing times or places, but participants still ran hard and showed their support for Hurricane Sandy relief.
