Low Snow Accumulations Likely for Long Branch-Eatontown Area

Forecast calls for about an inch to fall on Friday

The National Weather Service's weather report for the Long Branch-Eatontown area has changed slightly since yesterday, but snow is still likely. The forecast calls for a 30 percent chance of snow after 5 p.m. on Friday with less than half an inch expected to fall throughout the day. The snow is expected to continue until 1 a.m., with a slight chance of snow after 5 a.m. Less than an inch is expected to fall during this time. The freezing temperatures that have plagued the area for the last four days will continue through this weekend until Monday when a high of 40 degrees is predicted. Eatontown Brush and Leaf Pickup Suspension Will Be Lifted Wednesday

Upcoming snowstorm causes borough to bring back service

The Eatontown Department of Public Works (DPW) has chosen to lift its suspension of brush and leaf pickup on Wednesday. A message on the borough's web site states that Friday's impending snowstorm is the reason for resuming pickup. There is a 70 percent chance of snow in the Eatontown area on Friday, according to the National Weather Service. The amount of snowfall accumulation has not yet been predicted. Brush and leaf pickup was originally scheduled to be suspended from Jan. 1 through Jan. 31. The borough has continued to pick up Christmas trees during this period. Compost and mulch deliveries will also be suspended until March 4, 2013. Residents who have questions should contact Liz at 732-389-7651.
