Plan would call for residential and commercial buildings
A developer is looking to rezone Old Orchard Country Club, a golf course which borders Eatontown, Oceanport and West Long Branch. National Realty & Development Corp. (NRDC) is looking to rezone the 135-acre property into a mixture of residential and commercial uses. The property is currently zoned as "park/open space" with an overlay that allows 32,000 square foot lots. The change, which would have to be approved by the Eatontown Council before an application would be heard by the planning board, would allow the developer to build 175 units in a 55 and over community on one side of the golf course. Proposal on table to build convenience store to Route 35
Wawa's application to build a new convenience store on Route 35 in Eatontown will be heard by the borough zoning board tonight at 7:30 p.m. The application was originally scheduled to be heard by the Eatontown Planning Board last month, but was moved to zoning board's agenda last week. Eatontown Mayor Gerald Tarantolo has said developer's application includes a plan to build a Wawa convenience store and a strip mall that includes a bank and Chick-fil-A at the site of the vacant Circle Trailer Park near the corner of Route 35 and Wycoff Road. Application will likely be heard by zoning board in April
An indoor miniature golf course could be coming to Eatontown if the borough zoning board approves an application made by GloGolf Entertainment LLC in the coming months. The applicant is proposing to build Monster Mini Golf, a full-scale indoor, 18-hole, monster-themed miniature golf course at 749 Hope Road in the borough. The course would be illuminated by UV lightning and be used primarily for birthday parties and would also feature amusement-style games. A miniature golf course is not a permitted use in the borough's PBO-88 zone, so a variance will have to be granted by Eatonown Zoning Board of Adjustment. Application will now be heard by Eatontown Zoning Board of Adjustment
Those looking to hear Wawa's application to build a new convenience store on Route 35 in Eatontown will have to wait at least a month. Tonight's Eatontown Planning Board meeting where the application was originally scheduled to be heard, has been cancelled. According to the borough's web site, the application will now be heard in front of the Eatontown Zoning Board, "on a date to be determined."
