A Long Branch woman was arrested in Holmdel on Sunday and charged with burglary, shoplifting and drug possession. Sally Rosado, 37 of Long Branch allegedly entered a Clinton Court home after allegedly fleeing the scene of a Kohl's after shoplifting. According to police, after allegedly running from Kohl's, Rosado's initial stop was on Hawthorn Avenue but was denied entrance by the owner. When Rosado allegedly entered the Clinton Court home, she was confronted by the homeowner and again fled on foot. Police said Rosado was arrested on Route 35 at the Exxon station by Holmdel Ptlm. Prosecutor's office investigating death as a homicide
An autopsy performed on the Point Pleasant man found dead in a Long Branch backyard on Wednesday has revealed that he died of a gunshot wound, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Public Information Officer Charlie Webster. Webster said the death of Michael Wells, 56, is being investigated as a homicide. Webster said no arrests have been made in connection with Wells' death as of 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Wells was an employee of Dutch Prime Foods, 235 West Ave., Long Branch, which is about a block away from the backyard at 215 Cleveland Ave. where his body was found. The homeowner of 215 Cleveland Ave. reportedly discovered Wells body on Wednesday morning and called police at 7:30 a.m. Wells was pronounced dead at 8:15 a.m., …

Body identified as a 56-year-old Point Pleasant resident
The body found in a Long Branch backyard this morning has been identified as a 56-year-old Point Pleasant man. Michael M. Wells was found dead in the backyard of 215 Cleveland Ave. at 7:30 a.m., according to Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Public Information Officer Charlie Webster. Webster said Wells was pronounced dead at 8:15 a.m. but that the cause of death has not yet been determined. He said the results of the autopsy will likely be released tomorrow. Webster could not comment on whether or not foul play was involved in Wells' death.

An Eatontown man has been arrested and charged with burglarizing two borough homes over the last two months. Benjamin Ware, 22, of Throckmorton Avenue was arrested by Detective John Gugliuzza on Tuesday, April 2 and charged with burglary and theft. A homeowner reported to the Eatontown Police that their Broad Street home had been burglarized several times while he was on vacation, according to Eatontown Det. Lawrence Tyler. An Eatontown man has been arrested for allegedly robbing and threatening to kill a 77-year-old female resident of the Stony Hill Apartments in the borough. Oceanport man charged with robbery, theft, simple assault
An Oceanport man has been charged with robbery, theft and simple assault after punching a West Long Branch Shop Rite employee who attempted to aprehend him after he attempted to steal food from the grocery store. Ryan Smith, 28, allegedly tried to steal filet mignon, uncooked shrimp and lump crab meat from Shop Rite on March 28, when the unnamed employee attempted to stop him. The employee suffered a "minor injury" to the left side of their face. The food Smith attempted to steal was valued at just over $233. Smith was lodged in Monmouth County Jail where his bail was set at $15,000. Smith is scheduled to appear in Monmouth County Superior Court on April 17

Man pleaded guilty to one charge, admitting he used his phone to send images of child sex abuse
A Monmouth County man was sentenced today to 41 months in prison for using his Blackberry smartphone to distribute images of child sexual abuse, including to a stranger in Nevada, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced. John Nutt, 55, of Asbury Park, N.J., previously pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Joel A. Pisano in Trenton federal court to an Information charging him with one count of distribution of child pornography. Judge Pisano imposed the sentence today in Trenton federal court. Man Jailed For Using Another’s Urine On A Drug Test A Howell man on probation for a previous offense was charged Thursday with using the urine of another to defraud a court-ordered drug test, according to an arrest warrant.
