Go Red for Women in Monmouth County

Join the American Heart Association in its campaign to raise heart health awareness by taking part in local events.

There's nothing old manish about a sexy red dress, and according to the experts, the same is true for heart disease. Since 2004, the Go Red for Women campaign has sponsored National Wear Red Day to dispel the myth that only elderly men were at risk of a heart attack. Each year the American Heat Association has encouraged women to wear red the first Friday in February to raise funds and awareness for women's heart disease. If you've been paying attention to their efforts, you already know it's the number one killer of women. But did you know that it kills more women than all cancers combined? Or that Hispanic women are more likely to be killed by the disease?
