Long Branch School District Names New Assistant Superintendent

Alvin Freeman moves up from position of Lead Principal of Long Branch High School to assume new role of assistant superintendent

The Long Branch School District has a new Assistant Superintendent in Alvin Freeman, who was sworn in during Wednesday night's board of of education meeting. Freeman has served as Lead Principal of Long Branch High School since 2006 and now takes over for Michael Salvatore who has moved on to the position of Superintendent of Schools. Freeman will have a salary of $133,000. “I am so excited to begin this new chapter in my life,” Freeman said. “I am very appreciative that the Board of Education has the confidence in me and is giving me this wonderful opportunity.” Freeman, 41, is a native of New Orleans and moved to New Jersey when he was nine years old.
