More Oceanport Fort Monmouth Property Could Be Sold Soon

By Chris Sheldon

Oceanport Mayor Michael Mahon said the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) has entered into an exclusive period of negotiations for the Officer Housing located near the main gate of the fort on Oceanport Avenue.

“RPM is so far the lead bidder,” Mahon said during the April 3 Oceanport Council meeting. “They are in the exclusive period of negotiations as determined by FMERA board action.”

FMERA offered a request for offers to purchase (RFOTP) for the property on Jan. 16, 2013.

The RFOTP is for two parcels of land. A 10-acre parcel includes one single-family home, 24 duplexes and associated garages. A 26.5-acre parcel includes nine quadplexes, 13 duplexes and six single-family residences, with their associated garage spaces.
