CVS Up For Approval in Long Branch, Return of West End

The Long Branch Planning Board could potentially approve a CVS for the Broadway area this week.

By Christopher Sheldon

It's going to be another busy week in the Long Branch-Eatontown area with tons of meetings and happenings around town.

The Long Branch Planning Board will be looking at a proposed CVS for the Broadway Gateway redevelopment zone during its meeting on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m.

The Long Branch Council approved a redeveloper's agreement with CVS in August, and now the planning board must give the final approval for the project to move forward.

The project's approval would mark the first major redevelopment effort for the Broadway area.

The Long Branch Council will also meet this week on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. and the Eatontown Council meet on Oct. 23 at 7 p.m.

We're also going to reach out to city officials to get an update for the potential zoning changes for West End that would allow buildings similar to those lost in the fire in 2011 to be built.

We'll have that story for you as quickly as we can this week.
