Service Dogs Demo at County 4-H Seminar Thursday

The Monmouth County Paw Pals is a new group run by the 4-H organization that brings kids together to learn more about their animals.

The six kids have learned about veterinary care, exercise, grooming and how canines help the county Sheriff's Dept. On Thursday, the group is inviting the public to come learn more about Canine Companions for Independence, the nation's largest service-dog breeding and training program at a seminar in Freehold at 7 p.m.

The assistance dogs are raised from puppyhood by volunteers and eventually are highly trained by experts to give help and companionship to people with disabilities.
