Rock Walls, Stand Up Paddle Board and Miniature Golf

So much to do this weekend in Monmouth County.  How will you ever choose?  Here are some compelling ideas to get you out and about.

Miniature Golf - $6/person
(all ages)

This is not your average miniature golf course.  If you’ve ever done the miniature golf courses on the shoreline, you know they can be rather small and tend to be super crowded.   This is not the case at Twin Brook Golf Center http://www.twinbrookgolfcenter.com/contents/en-us/d4_Page_4.html  located in Tinton Falls.  This course is wonderfully designed, expansive and full of surprises as you play through waterfalls and caverns.  You’ll also find yourself enjoying the course at a nice slow place and you don’t generally have to wait for a hole nor are you rushed.  I found this little gem randomly driving by during my lunch hour.  I surprised my co-workers with a trip here one day during lunch and we had a blast.

Climb Time –FREE!
(ages 8 and up, with adult – climbers must be 42 inches or taller)

The portable 25-foot rock climbing wall is making the rounds this summer in Monmouth County.  This is a free activity and open to the public.  Harnesses are provided to hook you into a rope and at any time you flounder or just need a break, you are gently supported by a hydraulic belayer – all that means is – this is excellent for anyone who has never done rock climbing before (But there are always those who come back again and again!)  This is a drop-in activity so come try it out this Saturday, June 22, anytime between 1:30-3:30PM at  Sunnyside Recreation Area.  http://www.monmouthcountyparks.com/page.aspx?Id=2546

Stand Up Paddle Boarding - $73/person for an hour and a half
(Ages 14 and up welcome when accompanied by an adult)

It might seem pricey but you will be given thorough instruction and all the equipment necessary. You can give this new exciting sport a try at the Level  1 introductory session going on this Saturday, June 22, from 2:00-3:30pm at the Manasquan Reservoir West Dock. http://www.monmouthcountyparks.com/page.aspx?Id=2531  If you can’t make this one, you will have ample opportunity this summer to try it out on another Saturday or Sunday.  Check here for dates, times and location. http://www.monmouthcountyparks.com/program1/searchdetails.aspx?ID=21340
