Yoga on the Beach Coming To Long Branch

Free summer yoga will begin on Friday

 

A new summer yoga program is making its way to the beach in Long Branch this week.

The Long Branch Recreation Department-sponsored classes will begin on Friday on the Brighton Avenue beach in the city.

Instructor Mark Levy said the classes will be held seven days a week and will be free and open to the public. Levy said donations can be made to the recreation department as well.

He said there will be seven different yoga teachers, all registered with yoga alliance, leading the classes.

"It is expected that the interest in this could be big and additional instructors will be added on weekends if necessary," Levy said.

Levy said the group's Facebook page, West End Beach Yoga, will provide interested parties with more information and keep them posted on any weather-related cancellations.
