Monmouth Regional Prevails, Shore Falls in State Baseball Finals

Falcons starter pitches complete game in victory

 

The Monmouth Regional baseball team as victorious in today's State Sectional Finals, but Shore Regional was not as lucky.

The eighth-seeded Falcons defeated no. 7 Ewing 4-3 as their starter Brian Quinn pitched a 5-hit complete game, according to All Shore Media. The team captured its first sectional championship since 2005 in the Central Jersey Group II finals.

The Blue Devils (11) were blanked by no. 1 seed Middlesex, 4-0. Middlesex's ace, who will be pitching for Rutgers in the fall, pitched a shutout and cooled Shore's bats.
