Winter may just be underway, but Tinton Falls is thinking about the spring softball and baseball seasons.
Tinton Falls Girls Softball League
The Tinton Falls Girls Softball League announces its registration for the 2012 spring season. The TFGSL is a rec league for girls aged 7-to-15 as of Dec. 31, 2011. We will also accept 6 year olds with at least one year of t-ball as long as they can display basic skills.
In addition to players from Tinton Falls, the league is once again accepting girls from other towns. Girls aged 9-to-15 will have to attend a skills evaluation in late February for the purpose of creating fair, balanced teams. It is not a try-out, the TFGSL is a rec league, and any girls of the right ages may play. Additionally, girls who sign up by Wed Jan. 25 will be invited to a free clinic in Tinton Falls in mid-February. The dates of the evaluation and clinic will be announced shortly.

Registration forms will be distributed in Tinton Falls schools prior to the first day of signups. They will also be available at the registration locations, or you can have one e-mailed to you. Saturday, Jan. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon, Tinton Falls Middle School
Wednesday Jan.11 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wayside Firehouse
Saturday Jan. 21 from 9 a.m. to noon, Tinton Falls Middle School
Wednesday Jan. 25 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tinton Falls Library

Tinton Falls Little League
The Tinton Falls Little League is also announcing its registration for the 2012 spring season. Players ages 7 to 16 may sign up. The TFLL will have teams in the following divisions: Rookies, Minors, Majors, Juniors and Seniors. The players age as of April 30, 2012 determines which division they will play in. An evaluation date will be announced for Minor League players. It is not a tryout, it is to ensure competitive teams. Also please note that there are changes on Little League bat restrictions for the spring 2012 season. For more information on bat restrictions, go to www.littleleague.org.
