Aerials' Gymnasts Honored by Eatontown Council as they Leap to No. 1 in the State

The Aerials Gynmastics entry-level team are 2011 state champions and were honored at Wednesday night's borough council meeting.

There were a lot of ponytails in Eatontown's council chambers on Wednesday night as team members from Aerials Gymnastics were honored for vaulting to the top of state competitions this year.

The entry-level team placed first in the state, according to the owner of the Eatontown-based gymnastics facility, Sue Sarafin. She added that it was the first time any of the girls had competed at the state level.

The Level 5 team, composed of slightly older gymnasts, placed third place out of 40 teams competing in the state, said Sarafin.

I need to make a confession: I showed up to the meeting without my camera and only an iPhone for taking pictures! The lousy results speak for themselves. There were plenty of other cameras snapping away so feel free to add them here or email them to me at amy.byrnes@patch.com. Great job, girls!
