Monmouth Boys Soccer Season Outlook

A quick blurb about the upcoming Monmouth Regional Boys Soccer Team's season.

The Boys Soccer team at Monmouth Regional always has high hopes and this year is no different. The team has been practicing since June and participated in the Goodsports Sea Girt League.

Our team is fairly young with only a few returning starters. Since its not preseason yet , it appears that four seniors will try out. The core of the program includes the Junior and Sophmore class. Also there are only three returning starters including me, Kevin Eager and Steve Woloshin. We suffered a big blow when our main goal scorer, Stefan Bard, had to miss this years season due to surgery on his leg.

The team looks to be clicking . The tag team of Hector Pinto and Oscar Chue in the midfield distribute the ball well to the forwards.  Kevin Eager will probably be one of the two forwards but the other remains a question mark. Eric Halvorsen and Matt Obrero appear to be the main candidates for the outside Midfield positions.

Our defense is brand new with only myself as a starter last year. Nervin Ramirez, Scott Vari,Ryan Vincenti, and Tom Park all appear to be on the depth chart for defense. And our senior captain Steve Woloshin is our keeper.

Our preseason begins on Aug. 15th and continues until school starts. Our team's mentality this year is the same as every year: Win. Our goals for the season include making the State Tournament and Shore Conference Tournament. If you're in the area, come support your 2011 Monmouth Regional Boys Soccer Team!
