Voters Approve One of Two Monmouth Regional Public Questions

Public question 1 approved by voters

Voters in Tinton Falls, Eatontown and Shrewsbury Township have decided to approve one of Monmouth Regional High School's two public questions.

The first question, approved 5,584 to 4,336 on Tuesday night, is a facility is facility improvement project and has a total cost of $6,149,000. The project includes asbestos removal, a renovation to the girls' locker room and science classrooms and the construction of a storage room near the girls' locker room.

Voters decided not to approve the second construction project, 5,113 to 4,745. The $4,307,000 project included the paving of school parking lots, the construction of an auxiliary gymnasium, the renovation of the school's electric panels and a new PA system.

Last night's vote totals do not include mail-in ballots, but the margin appears large enough that these decisions will stick.
