Van Wagner Takes Place on Monmouth Regional BOE; Beats Gaetano by 6 Votes

Barbara Van Wagner was sworn into a three-year term on the Monmouth Regional High School Board of Education.

It's official: as of 5 p.m. on Tuesday when the official school board elections results were released, Eatontown resident Barbara Van Wagner beat long-time incumbent Joseph Gaetano by six votes to serve a three-year term on the Monmouth Regional Board of Education in last week's elections, according to MRHS Business Administrator Maria Parry.

According to Parry, Van Wagner received 323 votes and Gaetano drew 317 votes in the school board elections held on April 27.

Van Wagner was sworn in at the board's reorganization meeting on May 3, along with Tinton Falls resident Maura Triebenbacher and Steven Seavey of Shrewsbury Township.

Board members reelected Anthony Schaible to serve as their president and Seavey was chosen as vice president.
