Tinton Falls Board of Education Accepts Donations, Grants to Schools

Local business owner donated equipment and Swimming River teacher received $1,500 technology grant.

Tinton Falls students will benefit from new equipment and grant awards.

The Tinton Falls Board of Education accepted the contributions during its meeting at on Monday, Dec. 12. The donations and grants included the following:

  • The Tinton Falls Music Parents Association donated 20 Califone Classroom headphones to the Tinton Falls Middle School Music Department.
  • E&M Gold Beekeepers, owned by Tinton Falls resident Edmund Kosenski, donated a Toshiba monitor, a Nikon Coolpix digital camera, a Scienscope boomstand, a beam splitter, wide-field eyepieces, and a Nikon microphone.
  • Swimming River Elementary School teacher Julie Mikula applied for and received a $1,500 NJ-ASCD Central Regional technology grant to extend her fourth grade robotics program to the third grade, Superintendent John Russo said.
  • The Tinton Falls Foundation for Excellence in Education awarded a $500 grant to Tinton Falls Middle School music teacher Kimberly Genus.
