Three Long Branch Senior Athletes Sign Division 1 Letters

Seniors will be headed to Wake Forest, Cornell and Davidson for athletics

Three of Long Branch High School's senior athletes have signed their letters of intent and will be playing sports for three Division 1 colleges.

Jake George will be wrestling for Cornell University, Chris Pappayliou will be attending Wake Forest University for track and field and his brother Nicholas Pappayliou will be wrestling for Davidson College in the fall.

All three played track and field, and wrestled throughout their high school careers and have been members of the National Honor Society at Long Branch High School. Nick and Chris were also 3-year starters on the school's football team and were named to Academic All-Shore team.

Chris said he will be competing in javelin at Wake Forest.

We will have profiles on all three athletes in the next few weeks in our new Player of Week feature on Patch.
