The End of an Era: Memorial School Says Goodbye to Fort Families

Eatontown's Memorial School honored the military families that will soon be leaving the school with the closing of Fort Monmouth.

On May 27, Eatontown Memorial Middle School hosted a breakfast and ceremony for the nine remaining military families who have students at the school.  With the closing of Fort Monmouth this fall, these students will be leaving the area with their families.  The morning was an opportunity to recognize these families and thank them for their service to the country.

Each family was formally thanked and presented with a photo of themselves in front of the Memorial School banner.  During the ceremony each of the nine students introduced their families to the school to great applause.  In return Andrew Visconti, and student council president presented school principal Ron Danielson with a plaque, promising the flag that will fly over Fort Monmouth this Memorial Day, to the school.
