I am curious to know whether any other kids are having a hellacious year at Swimming River School. My grandson is in the 4th grade. He's been going to school or preschool since 3 months of age. He's loved every bit of it til this year. He was really looking forward to starting this year last fall. Then he seems to have gotten the teacher from Hell. This teacher routinely makes him sit in the back of the class with his back to the class. He's not a stupid kid. We have no reason to believe that he's misbehaving in class. There have been times when mistakes were made (misspelling) on homework. The pages were sent home for correction. Mom sat with him and supervised corrections. Teacher then accused him of not making the corrections and again direct corrections. This 9 year old was an eager beaver student. He routinely did more than what was assigned. He loved school and learning. Now, he is totally turned off. He outright refuses to go to school frequently. When forced into the car, he's tried to jump out even when the car was moving.
What I'd like to know is this, have others experienced the same. If so, I'm curious whether it is the same teacher. What were the results of your attempts to resolve the problems.
