Shore Regional's Carol Middough Named All-American in Field Hockey

Middough's 78 goals were the third most nationally in the history of high school field hockey.

Record-setting Shore Regional field hockey player Carol Middough was named first team All-American for 2013 by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association in conjunction with Harrow Sports.

Middough, a senior from Oceanport, is the 17th Field Hockey All American from Shore Regional.

Middough scored 78 goals, good for the third most nationally in the history of high school field hockey, and tallied 17 assists.

Carol was a 4 year varsity starter, and during that time, her teams won four division titles, four Shore Conference titles, two sectional state titles and two group State Championships.

Middough helped lead Shore to a 24-1-1 record in 2013 and the number 4 ranking in the state as well as a top 20 national ranking. 

"Carol combined her speed, intensity and skill to be one of the most dynamic forwards ever to play for Shore," a release from the school states. "Carol's leadership on and off the field was an intergalactic part of the team’s success."

A national honor society member, she will play for Yale University this year.
