Shore Regional High School Will Receive Large Increase in State Aid

School will receive $340,154 in state aid for the 2011-2012 year

Shore Regional High School will be receiving more state aid money than it originally expected after Gov. Chris Christie announced an increase for New Jersey Schools this week.

In February, it was announced that the school would receive $191,114 in state aid, but this week that number was increased by $149,040, for a total of $340,154.

The 2011-2012 state aid is a $298,079 increase over the 2010-2011 state aid figure of $42,075.

The increase is part of Gov. Christie allocation plan for an additional $850 million in aid for New Jersey Schools, $600 million more than he initially announced in February.

School Business Administrator Dennis Kotch said he did not wish to comment on the funding at this time, because he had not yet read the conditions and stipulations pertaining to the funds.
