Saturday's High School Football Roundup: Williams, Griffin Lift Long Branch Past Monmouth

Scores from around the Shore Conference

A look at Saturday's high school football scores, compiled from APP.com, nj.com and allshoremedia.net:

Long Branch 27, Monmouth 0: Deon Williams rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown, Avry Griffin passed for a 62-yard touchdown and scored on a 54-yard run, and the Green Wave improved to 2-0 with a win over the visiting Falcons.

Williams, the brother of two men killed in a crash after a high-speed police chase in Tinton Falls earlier this week, played a key role in the Green Wave's offense all game, with several key runs to keep the team moving toward the end zone. He dedicated his touchdown -- Long Branch's final score of the game -- to his brothers' memory, according to APP.com.
