New Principal Appointed at Eatontown's Memorial Middle School

By Christopher Sheldon

Memorial Middle School has a new principal after the retirement of Ronald Danielson earlier this year.

Jay Medlin, of Colts Neck, was recently appointed as school principal and comes to Memorial School with two years principal experience in a PK – 7 grade school in Hoboken. Medlin was also a Vice-Principal in Keyport, for about 6 years and  a social studies teacher for seventh and eighth graders in Keyport.

"My priorities as principal of Memorial School include increasing student achievement through improving teacher quality and effectiveness in the classroom and increasing parental involvement that promotes clear support of the instructional program," Medlin said in a letter to parents. "However, my greatest priority will always be doing what is best for our students."

"As an educational leader, Mr. Medlin has a record of both instructional and operational leadership at the school level," Superintendent Scott McCue said in a release. "He is technologically savvy and supports giving students and staff the proper tools to help prepare them for the 21st century learning and teaching."
