Most School Districts Closed Tuesday For Impending Weather

Every school district, with the exception of the Long Branch School District, has announced that it will be closed Tuesday due to inclement weather.

The schools closed today include:

• Shore Regional High School

• West Long Branch School District

• Eatontown School District

• Tinton Falls School District

• Monmouth Regional 

The Long Branch School District issued the following message on Facebook

"I realize most of you are waiting for an update on the weather and status of school opening. We are... OPEN for children. Normal school hours. Please drive carefully. We will continue to monitor the weather throughout the morning and provide a midday update if necessary. We have the grounds prepared for the wintry mix and equipment ready to provide a safe arrival and dismissal at each site. Have a great day."

As of 7:30 a.m., no rain or snow had fallen in the area, but there is expected to be a mix of rain of snow today.

Today: Rain and snow, mainly before 3pm. High near 37. Northwest wind 9 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 23. West wind 14 to 18 mph
