Monmouth University Students Graduate Today

Ceremony will be held at PNC Bank Arts Center

 

Members of the Monmouth University Class of 2012 will be ending their college careers today and beginning the next chapters of their lives.

The university's graduation will be held at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel  this afternoon at 1:30 p.m.

NCAA President, Dr. Mark A. Emmert, will be this year's commencement speaker and will address graduates during this year's ceremony. Emmert will also receive an honorary degree from the university.

Joan Rechnitz, co-founder of the Two River Theater Company and 1984 Monmouth University graduate, will also receive an honorary degree during the ceremony.

This year's ceremony will also mark one of the last for Monmouth University President Paul G. Gaffney II. Gaffney announced earlier this year that . No replacement has been named at this time.

Graduates are hoping for better weather than last year when a torrential downpour soaked the PNC Bank Arts Center.

The forecast for Holmdel this afternoon according to the National Weather Service calls a "mostly sunny" day with temperatures hovering in the 70s.
