Long Branch BOE Members Not Among Those Who Did Not Complete Criminal Background Checks

Board members complete necessary background checks

 

The members of the Long Branch Board of Education have complied with a new state law and are not in jeopardy of losing their positions.

Over 350 New Jersey board of education members failed to complete a criminal background check, according to an Asbury Park Press article.

Legislation passed last year states that board members who did not complete the criminal background checks by Dec. 31, would be required to resign or face criminal charges.

Long Branch School District Public Information Officer Walter J. O'Neill said every board member completed their criminal background check.

The Long Branch BOE members are President Bill Dangler, Vice President Tara Beams, Mary George, Lucille Perez, Avery Grant, Michele Critelli, Armand Zambrano, Jr., James Parnell and Alan Menkin.
