Gabriel Iglesias To Keep It Clean at Monmouth

The popular "fluffy" comedian will be performing at Monmouth University on Thursday, April 7 at 8:30 p.m.

For many students at Monmouth University, midterms have finished up, and those at the school might be in need of a good laugh after the stressful tests. Well students will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy themselves a bit on Thursday, April 7, when popular comedian Gabriel Iglesias will be bringing his unique brand of comedy to the school.

Iglesias is a California-based comedian who began his career at a young age, performing on the Nickelodeon show All That. He went on to act in shows like ABC’s My Wife and Kids, as well as lending his voice to FOX’s Family Guy.

Along with acting on those television shows, he has performed stand-up routines on many talk shows, including Conan, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Showtime at the Apollo and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Iglesias is perhaps best known for his time on the NBC stand-up comedian reality show, Last Comic Standing, where he was in the final eight of season four.

Iglesias has also gained a great amount of acclaim from his two hour-long specials on Comedy Central, showcasing his unique brand of humor. These two popular specials were “Hot and Fluffy,” and “I’m Not Fat…I’m Fluffy.”

In the same vain of comedians like Bill Cosby and Brian Regan, Iglesias has a clean stand-up routine, talking about issues in daily life. His stand-up routine usually features him wearing some variety of Hawaiian shirt, all the while making fun of his own weight issues.
