"Forty Faces" Exhibit on Display at Monmouth University

The new exhibit, showcasing artists who have made an impact on Monmouth County, will be on display at the Pollak Gallery at Monmouth University until July 31.

Art lovers will have an interesting exhibit to check out, as Monmouth University is currently displaying the unique “Forty Faces” exhibit, organized by Danny Sanchez.

The exhibit showcases the faces of 40 people, from the famous to the inspirational. All of these individuals have one thing in common though – creating various forms of art that help enrich Monmouth County. Those in the photographs range from painters to sculptors, and actors to choreographers.

Some of those participants in this exhibit include visual artist Pink Adubato, Symphony X lead singer Russell Allen, sculptor Jim Gary, photographer Liz McKay and Two River Theater directors and producers Bob and Joan Rechnitz.

One photograph features Monmouth University’s Vaune Peck, who is a visual artist, and another features perhaps one of the greatest magicians of all time, Teller from Penn and Teller.

Also showcased in the exhibit are Emmy nominated playwrights and producers Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore, Holiday Express founder Tim McLoone and filmmaker/ arts activist Robert O’Connor.

The project was put together this year, the 40th anniversary of the Monmouth County Arts Council (MCAC).

The Junior League of Monmouth County founded the organization in 1971, and to celebrate the anniversary, the exhibit was created.

Along with the Center for the Arts at Monmouth University, the show is being co-sponsored by the Two River Times newspaper.

The exhibit is currently on display at the Pollak Gallery at the West Long Branch campus at Monmouth University, and will remain up for patrons to view until Sunday, July 31. It is free for art enthusiasts to enjoy.

For more information on the exhibit, visit the MCAC website at monmoutharts.org, or contact Eileen Chapman at the Pollak Gallery by calling 732-571-3512.

The Pollak Gallery is located at 400 Cedar Avenue in West Long Branch.

The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
