Saturday's Shore Conference football games

A look at Saturday’s Shore Conference football games, compiled from reports at app.com, nj.com and allshoremedia.net:

St. John Vianney 27, Monmouth Regional 9: Steve Callari returned a kickoff 83 yards for a touchdown and caught a pass from Billy DeMato for a 37-yard score as the visiting Lancers (3-3) beat the Falcons (1-5).

Callari’s second TD gave St. John Vianney, which initially trailed 9-0, the lead for good. Chris Colapinto ran in for a 1-yard touchdown and Ishmael Hyman ran for an 18-yard score for Vianney.

Monmouth recorded a safety when Rydell Wilson and Dylan Brown sacked DeMato in the end zone. The Falcons then too the ensuing free kick and drove for a touchdown, capped by a 47-yard pass from Jeff Farrah Kenny Barrow for the score.

Lakewood 33, Central Regional 27: Michael Drumwright passed for a touchdown and ran for another score, but the Golden Eagles (2-4) were unable to corral Tyrice Beverette, who led the host Piners (5-1) to victory.

Central’s Manny Bowen returned the opening kickoff  83 yards for touchdown, but Lakewood answered with two scores by Beverette – a touchdown pass and a 68-yard punt return for a score.

Javon Hardy caught a 29-yard touchdown pass for one touchdown, then connected with Tom Clark for a score later in the game for Central.

Point Pleasant Beach 49, Highland Park 23: Danny Tighe rushed for three touchdowns and Andre Cochran ran for a pair of scores as the Garnet Gulls (7-0) remained unbeaten by topping the host Owls (0-7).

Kyle Samaritano added a touchdown and 123 yards rushing for Point Beach, which rushed for 478 yards as a team.

Lacey 45, Jackson Memorial 28: Liem Dolly accounted for 21 of Lacey’s 45 points, scoring touchdowns on an interception and a fumble recovery, kicked six extra points and topped it off with a 42-yard field goal as the host Lions clinched at least a tie for the Shore Conference Class A South title by beating the Jaguars (1-5).

Kyle Spatz rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns and Tom Kelly and Bill Belford connected for two more scores for the Lions (7-0).

Manalapan 24, Colts Neck 21: David Debner broke free in the fourth quarter, dashing 54 yards for the winning touchdown as the visiting Braves (6-0) rallied from a 14-0 deficit to beat the Cougars (5-1).

Mike Campbell threw touchdown passes to Anthony Gargulio and Connor Canonico as Colts Neck took a 14-0 lead. But Manalapan responded with a touchdown pass from Michael Isabella to Dennis Girolamo and a 36-yard field goal by Mike Caggiano to narrow the gap.

Gargulio made it 21-10 at halftime when he returned an interception 60 yards for a touchdown, but Manalapan didn’t back down, with Tyler Leonetti scoring from 9 yards out in the third quarter before Debner’s scoring burst in the fourth.

Matawan 14, Red Bank 7: The Huskies’ Nick Tompkins recovered a fumble in the end zone in the fourth quarter to tie the game, and then Glenn Cross scored from a yard out in the second overtime to lift visiting Matawan (5-1) past the Bucs (1-5).

Red Bank broke a scoreless tie in the third quarter when Tajhi Tomaino ran 50 yards for a touchdown.

Middletown South 35, Marlboro 7: Andrew Wisalko caught a 35-yard touchdown pass and Jeremy Concepcion ran 39 yards for another score as the visiting Eagles (5-1) down the Mustangs (2-4).

Jake Ripnick added two rushing touchdowns for Middletown South, and Eli Smith scored on a 50-yard run for the Eagles.

Brian Prestigiacomo ran 26 yards for Marlboro’s touchdown.

Freehold Township 35, Howell 7: Shane McGhee ran for two touchdowns and the visiting Patriots (1-5) tallied nearly 250 yards on the ground as they beat the Rebels (0-6) in a game postponed from Friday night.

Dan Bloodgood, Hayden Shapiro and Matt Pine all ran for scores for Freehold Township.

Dave Jimerson scored from a yard out for Howell.

Neptune 28, Freehold 7: The visiting Colonials got on the board late in the game, when Rayshon Webber caught a 17-yard touchdown pass from Brad Jones, but Freehold (1-5) was unable to rally further against the Scarlet Fliers (5-2).
