Eatontown Vetter School Students Complete Mayor's Book Club Challenge

Eatontown school students read close to 2,000 books.

First grade students at the Margaret L. Vetter School in Eatontown where given a challenge earlier this year by Mayor Gerald Tarantolo, and they have risen to it and earned a reward.

The students began the Mayor's Book Club program in February and were told that if they could read 1,000 books by May, that the school would receive $1,000 for its library.

They exceeded the goal and read 1,980 books, Eatontown Public Schools Superintendent Scott McCue said today.
