Intersection Improvements

  • Traffic Light at Fox Chase Drive/Cannon Ball Drive & Asbury Avenue – Monmouth County is currently reviewing plans and coordinating the utility relocation, potential land acquisition, and minor roadway widening at the intersection. In addition to the traffic light there will be dedicated left hand turn lanes to facilitate improved traffic movement at this intersection. Currently, a scheduled start date has not been set for this project by Monmouth County.
  • Intersection Realignment at Asbury Avenue/Pine Street/Essex Road – This project will realign the roadways and provide safer traffic movement. In addition, the existing temporally light will be moved to its new location once the project is completed. All permits have been obtained by Monmouth County and construction is anticipated to start by this summer.

Infrastructure Improvements

  • Swimming River Road – On or about the first week of April, this road will be closed during the night as NJ American Water permanently fixes the water pipes along the reservoir. This project may take at least a week.
  • Bridge on Newman Springs Road – The bridge on Newman Springs Road, close to Hance Avenue, will undergo major repairs with the installation of a new concrete bridge surface. This four-lane road will be reduced to two lanes (one westbound and one eastbound). This will be a 24 hour lane shift, which is scheduled until the end of November. This project is being performed by Monmouth County.
  • Rail Crossings – Railroad crossings grades at Wayside Road, Pinebrook Road, and Hope Road will be evaluated by Monmouth County and Tinton Falls as we work with Conrail to make improvements. Currently, a scheduled start date has not been set for this project.
