Tinton Falls Council and Committee Appointments for 2012

The new year brought one new face to the Borough Council on Tuesday at its reorganization meeting, which included a swearing-in of council members, the selection of council president and deputy president and appointments to various municipal boards and committees.

Three council members who had ran unopposed in November were sworn in at the Jan. 3 meeting to begin their four-year terms.

Christopher Pak joined council members up on the dais and fills the seat recently vacated by Andy Mayer, who chose not to run for reelection in the fall.

Gary Baldwin, who was also selected to serve as council president, returns to that role in his second term on council.

Steven Schertz, who joined the council eight months ago and filled a vacant seat, was sworn in and voted to serve as deputy council president for the upcoming year.

The council selected the following members to serve as liasons to borough groups:

• Nancyanne Fama – Library Committee Liaison
• Scott Larkin – Board of Education Liaison
• Steven Schertz – Open Space Committee Liaison
• Gary Baldwin – Planning Board Liaison (Class III Member)

Mayor Michael Skudera made the following appointments to the Planning Board:

• John Cunningham - Class IV Member 4-Year Term
• Det. Sgt. Scott Trocchia - Class II Member 1-Year Term
• Jeff King - Class IV Member 4-Year Term
• Gary Baldwin - Council Liaison – Class III 1-Year Term (Appointed by Council)

The Mayor made the following appointments to the Environmental Commission:

• Jonathan Cohen – 3-Year Term
• Jeff King – 3-Year Term
• James Wagner – 2-Year Term
• Maureen Forsman – 2-Year Term
• Robert Sandberg – 1-Year Term

The Council appointed the following to the Open Space Committee:

• Guy Buck – 3-Year Term
• Frank DeVita – 3-Year Term
• Cindy Anderson – 2-Year Term
• Doug DeVincens – 2-Year Term
• Robert Briscoe – 1-Year Term
