The Week Ahead: Meetings, Big Decisions and Spelling Bees

It is going to be a busy week in Long Branch and West Long Branch with several meetings and school events on tap.

After a weekend snowstorm that did not have the effect that some expected, city and borough roads are clear as the rain is washing away the leftover snow and ice.

That will make it easier for residents to get around this week and check out what is going on around town.

BOE Meetings:

The Long Branch Board of Education is expected to discuss its plans on whether or not it will .

We will have a story this week on the Shore Regional and West Long Branch boards plan on doing in this regard.

School Events:

There will be a at Long Branch Middle School on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. The winner will move on to the Spelldown Regional Spelling Bee at Monmouth University later this year.

Long Branch Council Meeting:

The Long Branch Council will meet on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Long Branch City Hall. The agenda includes the approval of Urban Enterprise Zone funds, a discussion of bringing back the city calendar or newsletter and much more.
