Sandy Recovery Mobile Cabinets Set Up For Long Branch, Middletown This Week

The mobile cabinets will be held in Middletown on Tuesday and Long Branch on Thursday.

Representatives from several state departments are slated to spend Tuesday and Thursday in Monmouth County, offering expert advice and assistance in a number of areas to victims of Hurricane Sandy, Gov. Chris Christie's office announced recently.

Representatives from the Department of Community Affairs (DCA) and the Economic Development Authority (EDA) will be on hand in Middletown and Long Branch on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively.

The Middletown mobile cabinet will be held at the Tonya Keller Center at 50 Bray Ave. from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Long Branch mobile cabinet will be held at Long Branch Fire Department Headquarters at 199-205 Union Ave. from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

DCA and EDA representatives will meet with affected residents and answer questions related to the housing and business assistance programs available through the federal Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) recently awarded as part of the federal disaster relief fund.

"Homeowners and business owners interested in attending can expedite the process by bringing relevant documentation related to the issue they are facing," the release states.

The “reNew Jersey Stronger” Housing Initiative was launched on May 24 to encourage and assist homeowners to reconstruct and resettle in their primary residences and the Stronger NJ Business Loan Program will be launched in July to help local businesses recover and expand within storm-impacted communities.
