Another potential change to the land use of Eatontown's Old Orchard Country Club was voted down on Monday night by the Eatontown Planning Board, according to a report on the Asbury Park Press.

The board voted 5-3 to deny the land use change which would have to allowed up to 450,000 square feet of commercial development on Route 36 in exchange for preserving open space on the remainder of the golf course property.

A developer had new plans for a development on the site, but it is unclear if those will still move forward now that the land use change has been defeated.
