Report: Condo Owners Sue Long Branch To Prevent New Townhouse Development

The city planning board is slated to hear the developer's proposal on Oct. 15.

A group of residents from the Seaview Park Condominiums in Long Branch have filed a lawsuit against the city stating that it made a mistake when it entered into a developer's agreement with TDB Associates, which is seeking to build 11 townhouses in the Beachfront North redevelopment zone, according to the Asbury Park Press.

The Long Branch Planning Board is scheduled to hear TDB's proposal on Tuesday night at 7:30, but the group of residents is looking to stop that from happening. The attorney representing the group, Thomas Hirsch, told the Asbury Park Press, that the council should have passed an ordinance to amend the city's master plan to permit residential developments, not beachfront recreational.

The article states that Superior Judge Lawrence M. Lawson will hear both sides Tuesday in Freehold.
