No Surprises in West Long Branch Council Primary Election

No write-in candidates seeking nomination

Tuesday's Republican primary was uncontested as the two candidates were the only people to throw their hats into the race for two open seats on the West Long Branch Council.

Incumbent Christopher Neyhart is seeking his third term on the council and received 71 votes Tuesday. Newcomer Fred Migliaccio will be looking to join the council for the first time and also received 71 votes. Migliaccio is currently the borough's Office of Emergency Management Coordinator and the Fire Sub Code Official.

Republican Councilman J. Thomas DeBruin, who was elected to the council in 2005, will not seek a third term on the dais.
