Tinton Falls Fort Monmouth Parcel Now On The Market

Parcel contains former research facility

A former research facility in the Tinton Falls section of Fort Monmouth is now on the market.

The Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) has issued a request for offers to purchase (RFOTP) for the property which consists of 7.25 acres, three buildings and a geo-thermal well field.

Only one of the buildings, Building 2705, is planned for reuse. The other two buildings, 2718 and 2715, will likely be demolished.

The 47,600-square-foot Building 2705 is located in the Charles Wood Section of Fort Monmouth on Pearl Harbor Road. It was built in 1971 and was last used by the Army for night vision research and systems engineering.

"The Reuse and Redevelopment Plan envisions that the main building will be retained in connection with an office/high technology industry node in the Tinton Falls Reuse Area," a FMERA newsletter states. "FMERA and its master broker have shown the property to several interested parties and believe the issuance of an RFOTP at this time could facilitate the attraction and retention of one or more information and communications technology companies."
