Most Tinton Falls Homes to Have Power by Friday; Meredith Drive Another Week

While most residents should be able to switch on their lights by Friday, those who live on Meredith Drive might have to wait until Sept. 7.

JCP&L finally shed some light on when power should be expected back to the almostWednesday night.

According to , the was informed by hat power to all customers should be restored by Friday, Sept. 2. However, those Tinton Falls residents experiencing power outages on and around Meredith Drive may not receive power until Wednesday, Sept. 7 due to the "extensive utility pole damage."

On Wednesday, the number of customers without power quickly decreased from 1,495 at 5:30 p.m. down to 693 as of 8:30 p.m.

Skudera said in an e-mail, "JCP&L prioritizes restoration by counties with the most outages. Monmouth County has, by far, the most JCP&L customers without power." 

Following a tour of the borough by Deputy OEM Coordinator David Boehning to assess continuing issues, Skudera shared in an e-mail that the as of approximately 11p.m.:

  • Pegasus Drive (from dead end to Sire Stakes)
  • Sire Stakes Drive (from Pegasus to Triple Crown)
  • Riverdale Avenue West
  • Thayer Road (half the street towards Canterbury)
  • Meredith Drive
  • Kent Place
  • Knollwood Drive
  • Farmedge Lane
  • Birchwood Court

Boehning also reported that as of Wednesday afternoon, "there was the pole on Hope Road just south of the UPS driveway that is still only being supported by tree limbs."

JCP&L trucks were also observed working on Riverdale Avenue West on Wednesday.

Skudera expressed frustration earlier on Wednesday with the lack of information the borough had received from JCP&L.

"There's nothing really concrete," he said, "and that could be improved. I'm not really happy with the way they communicate with the towns."
